Copy of Speak Up
A story with many mistakes and words that rhyme

A day to face the mirror
A day to face ourselves
A day to consider our intent
A day to pick at the truth

It’s hard to be honest with ourselves
Probably the hardest thing to do
To face up to what we truly are
To love the darkness and the scars

And then where do we take our next step
In what direction do we head
It might be hard with the lights turned down
Impossible if we stay in bed

The muscles will fade
Our eyes will grow weak
The sores will come
All hide, no seek

Likely, we’ll choose to look outside for reprieve
Trade the mirror for a window
As we seek to not feel the discomfort
And throw spears at others

He said that, she did this
THEY won’t let me breathe
THEY took away all my ($) drive
and kept me full of NEED

So I blamed them all
I blamed my biased read
I blamed them for all the times
I forced myself to bleed

Then I chose a different path
I chose to look past the screen and into the mind of the artist
A place beyond the words, the actions and the “science”
To a place of intent, a place of energy, a place of unknown design

The words…..

“Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.”
echoed truer than ever

And everything disappeared.
